Performing at Kitty Hoynes on Thursday, 4/28 at 8 pm

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be playing this week at one of Syracuse’s landmark venues for food, drink, and music.  Everyone adores this family style Irish Pub & Restaurant and its music-loving owner, David Hoyne. The décor, alone, makes a visit worthwhile.
I’ll be playing from 8-11 pm. The address on Armory Square is:

301 West Fayette Street
Syracuse, NY 13202
Phone: 315.424.1974

I hope to see you then – Michael

Had an excellent time performing at the Western Ranch Saloon

So I played at this delightful family-owned bar restaurant last Friday. It must’ve gone well because Wally, the owner, asked me back again this week (1/15). Lots of friendly patrons who love acoustic music. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but it was packed and the people I asked said it’s good food. Actually, here are some of their menus:

Winter Schedule is Shaping Up

This coming Friday (1/8) I’ll be at a new venue:

Western Ranch Motor Inn
1255 State Fair Blvd
Syracuse, NY 13209

Here’s their Facebook page:

Starting next Tuesday (1/12) I’ll be performing every week (except on 2/11) from 6-8 pm at Pascale’s Italian Bistro for “Acoustic Tuesdays with Michael Gordon.” The dining crew and I will be doing our best to create a warm experience on what likely will be cold nights. Good music aside, you can also take advantage of the best dining deal in town — $10 pasta dishes with side salads.

The restaurant is located at 800 Nottingham Road, Syracuse, NY 13224 – on the swimming pool side of the Drumlins complex. For reservations, call 446-8511 and tell the hostess you want to be in the room with the live music.

Pascale’s Italian Bistro this Saturday Evening

Head over to Pascale’s Italian Bistro ( this Saturday evening from 7:30-10:30 pm for my first show of the spring season. If you haven’t spent an evening listening to music while dining on some of Pascale’s best, here’s your chance. Judging from past events, you’ll have an excellent time of it.

Because it certainly will be a busy evening, call ahead for reservations at 446-8511. Also don’t forget about their Saturday special — Prime rib, side and salad for only $14.95.

I hope you can make it. Thanks

Irrational Behavior

For reasons that defy rational explanation, I’ve returned from sunny Arizona to the eternal winter that is Syracuse. But I am totally ready for another joyous evening on the second floor at Frankie’s this coming Friday 3/27 from 6-9 pm at 656 North Salina Street ( True, I won’t have first played golf on a canyon course or walked alongside a mountain lake.  But I will have a chance to do what I like best – singing for friends, new and old.

Please come by and spend some time eating wonderful Italian fare and listening to lots of good tunes.

Two shows in one weekend . . . Perfect

Two opportunities this week to hear the dulcet tones of one Michael G.  I’ll be at Frankie’s (frankiesnybistro.comthis Friday evening from 6-9 pm. Make sure to make reservations at 863-4098 because that second floor has become a most popular spot, even with all the lousy weather. And they’ll have that early bird special from 4:00pm – 6:00 pm: one free drink or dessert w/ the purchase of any entrée (not good with any other offers).

Saturday I’ll be at Pascale’s Italian Bistro (  By accounts other than just mine (I swear), the last show was very well received and everyone enjoyed his/her meal.  And, for scheduling reasons, I won’t play there next month – so now’s your chance if you prefer an East Side venue.  The show runs from 7:30-10:30 pm.

Like my refurbished web site?  While it’s not completely renovated, it at least has the “new look” that my buddy, Doug, designed. I’d welcome any suggestions so another buddy, Simon, can implement them.

Hope to see you this weekend.

Start the Valentine’s Day Weekend Off Right

Even if you’re going out Saturday for Valentine’s Day, you should consider the benefits of some excellent musical foreplay on Friday night. I’ll take the occasion to sing one love song after the next in every genre you can imagine. Expect lots of tunes like “Bless the Broken Road,” “All of Me,” “My Eyes,” “Handyman,” “She’s Got a Way About Her,” and more. Just be aware that I might not be able to keep myself from performing some blues along the way — songs that address a few of the less tender sentiments that can arise.

So start your Valentine’s weekend off right with a romantic night of sweet acoustic music at Frankie’s Piccolo Bistro. I’ll be playing from 6-9 pm at 656 North Salina Street (

You’ll definitely want to make reservations by calling 315-863-4098. Make sure to tell them to seat you upstairs with me. They’ll have a 4:00pm – 6:00 pm Early Bird Special: one free drink or dessert w/ the purchase of any entrée (not good with any other offers).
